They have managed to dupe the media and many others.

I've got liberal friends who have accepted the "border crisis" as fact and I have even conceded once or twice that "there must be something wrong" because of my limited knowledge of the situation and the stilted coverage.

those that are Red Letter Bible Christians. They follow the words in red, the words that are the words of Christ. Best example are the Beatitudes. Thiose people ignore those those words.
But that’s just me.

I was hoping Tommy Udo had pushed Wheelie Abbots chair into the Rio Grande. Thanks all the same Texas Paul. After all these years I still hear Tommies evil laugh when he pushed that chair do the stairs. Those mush brained maggots are really idiotic.

Anyway the news is portraying an entirely different situation than he is, and although the eagle pass situation wasn't as bad as they expected, its not because the numbers of migrants are low. They just cross in AZ and CA now.

We aren't helping ourselves by pretending this issue isn't an issue.

Fox news showed this last night.

And this is the most recent non right wing media reporting I can find on this issue

How Many Migrants Are Crossing the Border?

Migrant encounters across U.S. borders have exceeded 988,900 the past three months, following a record-setting number in fiscal year 2023.

As part of the current fiscal year that began in October, there were 309,114 migrant encounters that month, 308,669 in November and 371,036 in December. In December, about 300,000 migrants—nearly 10,000 per day—came into the U.S. through Mexico, including about 250,000 between ports of entry, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data. Federal border agents encountered about 2.5 million migrants in total last year, surpassing the previous record high from the year before.

...

While numbers remained steady at about 241,000 and 242,000 migrant encounters in October and November, respectively, they shot up to about 302,000 in December.

In fiscal year 2021, southern border encounters increased every month between October and July. They ascended from about 71,000 in October to more than 213,000 by July, ultimately decreasing in August and even more so in September. The final total was about 1.734 million for the period.

15. And yet, "staggering numbers" of *encounters* does not equal an invasion

In the last year of tRump’s term, the CBP started reporting the term, ‘encounters,’ as a catch all for both apprehensions and expulsions. When media outlets (including Newsweek here) present the vague encounters term, it leads readers to conclude that it’s the number of folks streaming over uncontrolled, rather than understanding how highly-surveilled the border actually is. It’s tiring, really, to deal with the onslaught of lazy local and national news willing to fluff Abbott, tRump, and their ilk.

The border isn’t open and Abbott is a disgrace as he boondoggles the state he is supposed to serve — of course that convoy of nincompoops were ultimately disappointed. Abbott’s only constant is disappointment, i.e. Uvalde, grid, etc. That republicans rejected the bipartisan border bill (and aid to Ukraine & Israel) to undercut Biden shows they are unserious about doing anything to address root causes or increase resources for new levels of traffic at the border.

ps - dunno, Texas Paul is kind of awesome. I know Texan dudes like him that pretty much share his views.
