They became vegetarians when they moved to a beautiful spread in Europe somewhere. They had a lot of sheep, which they enjoyed watching roaming about the place. They said it occurred to them, why would we kill them to eat them? We can get protein and the vitamins in other ways, so why would we kill our beautiful animals to eat them? So they became vegetarians. Makes sense to me.

PETA can go a bit overboard sometimes, but the org. does good work, and is primarily responsible for fewer rich people buying fur these days.

People who don't understand it, don't usually know about the slaughtering and processing of meats. (Read up on veal.) And how cruel the fur business is. For something as silly as wearing on your back, when other products serve the same purpose.

About 4 people sitting near me at work are vegetarians, and one of them is vegan.

Since I gave up beef and pork years ago, my blood work looks like that of a person much younger. Normal everything, and normal blood pressure, despite high stress. It's amazing. Then when I started a walking program, everything dipped, in a good way.

It's true what they say. A healthy lifestyle does wonders. I've personally experienced it. It can't protect against certain types of cancer, though (I think).

I hope to be vegetarian one day, if I can do it. But I LOVE poultry.

In addition to the inflammatory (meat eaters are like the SS at Auschwitz,) ads, what pisses me off the most is the connections between PETA and the Animal Liberation Front terrorists.
And they damn well *ARE* terrorists.

Every time, and I mean EVERY time an ALF terrorist is actually caught, guess who comes running to the rescue with lots of high-powered high-priced lawyers? Yup. PETA.

And the head of PETA is on record saying he would even outlaw PETS!

I've been a vegetarian since 1991 and have no respect for PETA. As far as I'm concerned they have nothing to do with animal rights or any cause really except money.

They will freely resort to racism, sexism, the objectification of women or whatever else it takes to get publicity (from the same 'there is no such thing as bad publicity' model that has worked for the Westboro Baptist Church. They then use gullible celebrities and pictures of cute animals in danger to raise money from, mostly wealthy, young people under the pretense of protecting the cute animals. To my knowledge though they have never had any major success stories, nor have they lifted a finger as many less cute animals are driven to the brink of extinction.

It's a sham and I feel badly for anyone who has ever been taken in by them.
