1. Hardly.

The 68 convention was a fiasco not because of the protestors, but because of the violent police response to them.

That’s not going to happen again.

The protestors will likely be sequestered in “free speech zones” as they have been during past conventions.

The protestors may garner an unbalanced share of media attention, compared to protesters at the Republican convention, but in the end, will likely be a big nothingburger.

Unless the Proud Boys show up (at either convention).

2. Yup. Never thought I'd recommend following a GW Bush policy,

but setting up free speech protest zones is a good idea at the conventions.

But one problem might be far left Dem delegates raising hell inside the convention hall.

Which is why you should not recommend GW Bush policies. The protesters in Chicago will not be held in a zone. The city has refused all permits for them anyway -- just like '68.

People have a right to protest at reasonable times and places. They can't be put off somewhere that no one can see them.

But I am concerned that there will be disruptive demonstrations of "my way or the highway" demands from the anti Israel faction.
