(15,652 posts)The 68 convention was a fiasco not because of the protestors, but because of the violent police response to them.
Thats not going to happen again.
The protestors will likely be sequestered in free speech zones as they have been during past conventions.
The protestors may garner an unbalanced share of media attention, compared to protesters at the Republican convention, but in the end, will likely be a big nothingburger.
Unless the Proud Boys show up (at either convention).

But one problem might be far left Dem delegates raising hell inside the convention hall.

(32,071 posts)Which is why you should not recommend GW Bush policies. The protesters in Chicago will not be held in a zone. The city has refused all permits for them anyway -- just like '68.

(32,071 posts)People have a right to protest at reasonable times and places. They can't be put off somewhere that no one can see them.
