October 7, 2023

What Hamas did on October 7, 2023 was heinous, evil, and unforgivable. Unfortunately, the response by Netanyahu and the IDF is not justified. They have killed thousands and thousands of innocent people, women and children. One heinous act does not justify another heinous act. Two wrongs do not make a right. There have been terrible actions on both sides. Israel has the right to defend itself, but not to kill innocent civilians en masse. The Israelis that support this killing have lost the moral high ground. They are not justified. The IDF needed to find a way to target the Hamas perpetrators without the mass killing of thousands of innocent civilians. There are many Israelis and Jews that do not support this slaughter. Mass murder is never justified, on either side. So I condemn the October 7th killings, but also the mass killings of innocent Gazan civilians. Cease fire now, and the return of all hostages.

an adequate price to pay. They have been using the Gazans as human shields and they expected the Israeli response to be severe.

And they certainly have been winning the PR war. Their goal is also to establish followers on Western campuses and are achieving their goal.

Oh, I don't doubt that at all. What Hamas has done is heinous and evil and deliberate. They need to be held to account. That said, Netanyahu and the IDF have gone totally over the line. They needed to find a way to hit back at Hamas in a proportional manner. They needed to distinguish between Hamas and innocent civilians. Killing thousands of innocent civilians is not a proportional response. There needs to be a more moderate government in Israel, in my opinion. It is a terrible war and now a growing humanitarian crisis. Israel would have a lot more sympathy if they had not killed thousands of innocent Gazan civilians. It is a bad situation no matter how you look at it. [made some edits for clarity.]

Does that go for Hamas as well as Israel?
After all on October 7th there was a cease fire in place that Hamas broke.

How about some proof that there are still hostages that are alive?
All Hamas has to do to stop the Israeli response is to surrender and release whatever hostages that are alive and the bodies of those who have died in their custody.

After that there can be a discussion about a two state solution - but in order for that to happen Hamas needs to recognize the legitimacy of the Jewish State of Israel.

Give two shits about the hostages or the fate of Israel. They say they do and then ask Israel to concede. Then when it happens again Israel will be told that it has no moral standing.

No other country has to put up with this shit. But they will do what they have to do to survive and to hell with those who don’t want them to. And it is the eventual destruction which these folks desire. Make no doubt about it.

And when they deny it, and they’ve been doing so since 1948, the word “but” shows up more than any other word.

How’s this you “anti-Zionists”: you should be entitled to the land your home is built upon BUT it in fact belongs to the Native Americans. Oh. I know: that’s a nice sentiment BUT…(fill in the blank). Hypocrites.

There is no doubt that Hamas and other terrorist groups want the destruction of Israel. Israel has the right to exist, Israel has the right to self defense. What happened on October 7, 2023 was heinous and evil. My argument is that Netanyahu and the IDF went well over the line by attacking and killing thousands of innocent Gazan civilians. They needed to hit Hamas, not innocent civilians and women and children. Israel has a right to exist, Israel has the right to self defense. Killing civilians en masse is not an act of self defense. Israel does not have the right to kill thousands of innocent civilians, in my opinion. Israel would have had a lot more sympathy around the world if they went directly after Hamas and terror groups rather than women and children who did nothing wrong.
