Barr reflects on Trump's occasional rhetoric about killing people - Steve Benen, MSNBC

Barr reflects on Trump’s occasional rhetoric about killing people

This is a short but very alarming article that I recommend reading in full, but I have a question about the reason William Barr gave for supporting Trump:

In the same interview, the CNN host (Kaitlan Collins) asked, “So just to be clear, you’re voting for someone, who you believe tried to subvert the peaceful transfer of power, that can’t even achieve his own policies, that lied about the election, even after his attorney general told him that the election wasn’t stolen? And as the former chief law enforcement in this country, you’re going to vote for someone who is facing 88 criminal counts?”

Barr initially responded that he takes issue with “a lot” of the pending felony counts pending against the former president.

Collins quickly added, “Even if 10 of them are accurate?” to which Barr again reiterated his support for the Republican Party’s 2024 ticket. Asked how he could justify such a position, the former attorney general, who took a great many steps to unravel the rule of law, said, “The rule of law is unraveling.”

The former attorney general went on to complain that the Biden administration is “telling people what kind of stoves they can use, and what kinds of cars they have to drive, and eliminating cars and so forth. Yes, those are the threats to democracy.”

I didn't know about this, and now I'm worried that I might not be using the right kind of stove! Does any one know which types are acceptable?

Those were my first 2 cars when I moved back to Canada in 2002. Subaru’s got to be too expensive, I’m 8 years on a Honda CR-V at this point. Those things last forever…

pushing for increasing executive power. This is his wet dream. He may be a little unnerved about who it is that is going to benefit from it.

I wonder if he'll ever get a Robert McNamara moment?

Barr should be investigated and imprisoned for life given what would be found if Barr were not a privileged and protected individual.

The government and legal system in the USA are compromised.

So his imagined bullshit is more important to him than the real scary shit he knows. Barr is as big a psychopath as Trump.
