Announcing what it called its Noem Puppy Murder Poll Findings, New River Strategies, a Democratic firm, said 81% of Americans disapproved of Noems decision to shoot Cricket, a 14-month-old wire-haired pointer who Noem says ruined a pheasant hunt and killed a neighbours chickens, thereby earning a trip to a gravel pit to die.

Btw I am not buying her stories about the dog killing chickens or attacking people and from
her story about the dog chasing pheasants when she took it hunting the animal was just
showing drive which after training can make for a good hunting dog.🐶
Btw part 2 lots of pointers are not good at retrieving game after it has been shot and that
is why we have retrievers. Sensing a bird, holding a point, flushing the bird after be released
from the point and maybe retrieving the bird are complex behaviors that dont just happen
when you take a puppy including pure bred hunting dogs 🐶 for the first times.

(8,906 posts)At all. I live in red hell, WNC. Bear hunters and Coon Hunters. They pay enormous prices for specialized hunting dogs. Very very many live on a chain outside, with bare soil year round. A 50 gallon drum is their shelter. One hunter could own as many as 10+ dogs in a small area, dog shit abounds. Most of those dogs if freed, would attack people or animals.
During training season I have seen so many of those dogs, in the heat of day inside stacked boxes in the bed of trucks.
Not broad brushing all hunters as that type, but enough are, that huge numbers of dogs are not treated well at all.
I had personal contact in my profession with literally hundreds and hundreds of young hunters from all over the mountain regions. Many of these folks I would allow to even pet a dog of mine.
If as some MAGAs say they would vote for Trump if he shot and killed someone at the capital, dont for a second think they give a damn about a hot women shooting a dog. That makes her hotter to them. And if she packs those new Texas teeth with smokeless tobacco and spits anywhere she wants, whew, what a babe.

(20,975 posts)You can find 10 to 20 percent thar will agree to anything stupid in a poll. Polling at 19 percent is bad. Why anyone would openly talk about shooting their dog and think that's a good idea, didnt poll that idea first because it's polling about where anyone would expect it too. Dog killers, not popular. Not a shock.

You deal with them when they cross a line into animal cruelty and stay the F away from them otherwise.
Because, like it or not, it's not against the law to agree with shooting dogs for stupid reasons. They can think it and say it, as long as they don't do it. We don't prosecute people for thought crimes in this country. That sort of lunacy is the province of the Christian church and their hell.
