rolls eyes
TOPLINE Former President Donald Trump will be able to step away from his New York hush money trial to attend his son Barron Trumps high school graduation next month, the judge overseeing the case ruled Tuesday morning, just weeks after the 2024 GOP presidential nominee falsely claimed he was prohibited from attending.
New York Judge Juan Merchan ruled Tuesday he does not think the May 17 date is a problem, multiple outlets reported.
It remains unclear whether the trial will continue on May 17 while Trump is in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Merchans ruling on Tuesday comes just two weeks after Trump went on a tirade against him on social media, claiming that Merchan prohibited him from attending his sons graduation, while his adult son Eric Trump labeled Merchan as truly heartless, even though Merchan had not yet made a decision on Trumps request to skip the trial on the date of the ceremony.

(2,106 posts)It's in West Palm Beach and it costs $44,000 a year. For high school, the middle school is only $37,000 a year. Plus you have to provide your own laptop. It has to be a top of the line MacBook and they encourage you to get AppleCare. These kids probably don't take good care of their things.

really NOT a big deal, just send your ignorant 'kids' over any time.

(25,319 posts)you had a 'perfect' excuse to not have to be at this graduation ceremony.
Now - you have to go!!!

Trump will likely turn the occasion into a political rally and fundraising event because, of course, the kid's graduation is all about him, not the kid.
Expect some vile, partially coherent rants from the orange one before and after the ceremony, all about being a victim of political persecution. Wonder if Trump will give his son a graduation present or will instead expect donation presents for himself on the occasion.
Would not surprise me if Trump gave his son a really generous gift, like an expensive pair of golden gym shoes.

And Melania certainly won't want to sit next to him for hours.
And what if it rains? Oh nose!

(526 posts)- the trial will be over before then? If it's not and Trump does not attend the graduation, should he be held in contempt (if only he could be)?

(21,865 posts)I hope that he doesn't get booed, only for the sake of the graduates themselves. Their event should not be overshadowed by Mr. Orange's presence.

(9,192 posts)important? Imagine telling their children that Trump was at their graduation and they just accepted it and kept their mouths shut. He's going to have an entourage of security, it's not like he isn't already going to be overshadowing the proceedings. .
