(15,568 posts)Cameras won't work, again. Some poor person at the bottom of the criminal system will be assigned blame. And then we'll move on to the next semi-extrajudicial rendering.

(7,020 posts)it will be a Federal prison. It won't be Max because it's a non-violent crime. It may or may not be the closest one to im. At least two of the whistleblowers who were (IMO wrongly) convicted were sent far enough that it was impossible for their families to visit them regularly. - Jeffrey Sterling and John Kiriakou. Jeffrey has a heart condition and I remember how worried his wife was that he might die. That was a Federal prison in Colorado (Littleton, IIRC), but I have no idea what it is actually like overall.

Of course, if scotus agrees to stay his case until next term when they can hear it......

(15,267 posts)Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
