A clip from a stand-up show by liberal filmmaker Michael Moore talking about why voters supported former U.S. President Donald Trump is being miscaptioned online by people who say it shows Moore himself voicing support for him. Moore has publicly expressed dislike of Trump.

An Instagram post, opens new tab says, “Michael Moore Supporting Trump” and has over 22,000 likes including comments like, “Is this real, I can’t believe my eyes,” “Wow, I'm shocked! This guy, out of all liberals, actually has woken up!” and “At least one liberal has seen the light.”

The clip was posted, on Truth Social by Trump himself on April 22, 2023 as well.

The clip is a eulogy written by Moore from the perspective of people who voted for Donald Trump in 2016.

In the clip, Moore talks about the reasons why people voted for Trump. He talks about Trump threatening 35 percent tariffs, on cars built in Mexico if automakers chose to outsource production and how this was “music to the ears” of some voters who said it was something that no politician had ever said before.
