On Dec. 26, the court denied the plaintiffs’ request for temporary relief.
On Dec. 27, the plaintiffs’ appealed this decision.
On Feb. 5, the court dismissed the Republican plaintiffs’ lawsuit.
On Feb. 6, the plaintiffs appealed the trial court’s dismissal. The plaintiffs’ asked the appeals court to temporarily block the law, but the court declined.

On May 9, 2024, the state appellate court dismissed the case.

STATUS: On May 13, 2024, the plaintiffs appealed to the New York Court of Appeals. Litigation is ongoing.
