However, taking down the stock exchange would make me snicker too. I suppose some good hackers like Anonymous could for a day or two and it wouldn't involve shooting.

Batman worked overtime to prop up a bunch of corrupt, elite sycophants. Their illusion of prosperity & progress was an insult to the poor

Can you imagine what it would do to the global economy if Wall Street were hacked and shut down for a few days? I can't really because I'm not a smart economist. But I bet it would be really bad. Despite the fact I'd love to see all those traders loose their asses it might not be a good thing.

would be lost? I think it would leverage things down to what the true value of the stocks actually are. The guys that are trading in esoteric stuff, shorting and all would go down I think. Sure a lot of people would lose their shirts including some senior citizens whose retirements would probably go poof, but not entirely poof if the investments were somewhat conservative. I would love to see the venture capitalists go poof myself.

I think it would be beneficial in the long term for all the exotic deals and such to crash and take all those vulture capitalists with them. It wouldn't be pretty in the short term.

But we don't have any politicians or regulators who are not far too connected to the whole mess to expect anything to happen for those of us who don't have the money to buy politicians - oops I mean make campaign contributions.
