Why would a smart young person go to college, take out thousands of dollars in student loans, and major in computer science, if they knew that upon graduation they would have to compete with immigrants willing to work for peanuts and no benefits? Brother and I was talking the other day and he brought up the fact that the pendulum started swinging right in earnest with ronnie raygun and his cabal of crooks and its starting to swing back towards the left now. After hearing his argument I have to say I agree that we're starting to see that pendulum swinging back to the left. The people on the left for the most part are people who aren't driven by hate of this and then that as the right is so when we're in control good things happen for the average citizen, the 99% of us.

....a degree adds value and mutual benefit to the community. A student loan paid off gives the graduate greater buying power to the community as a whole. It isn't a trickle down - or in my opinion a piss on - by the wealthy bag of dicks, but a downpour of rain that feeds an entire nation.

The President has already made changes to the student loan payback system that I can live with, forgiveness of loans for bullshit studies is just not going to happen.

That's right, high income graduates (who outnumber them).

It's in the nation's best interests to reduce the liability of the student loan crisis and I have zero problem as one of dem dere college graduates paying my fair share to this end.

9. You're citing an old statistic

It just doesn't work that way anymore, especially when you take out the truly remunerative occupations (physician, engineer, etc.) that actually have a hope in hell of paying back a mountain-sized student loan.

A bachelor's degree in most liberal arts won't pay you back a million dollars these days. I doubt it ever did.
