Mid December.
Sky looks like snow. Low and gray.
Temperature is near 70.
Flowers popping!
Trees are bare but all else is fully green and growing.
Last year we had no winter and the pest bugs were spared, making the summer unpleasant. Seem slike the trend is continuing.

(111,261 posts)but the snow evaporated before it hit the ground. Today it's colder than last night's mashed potatoes. High today will be in the 40s and I can feel it in my uninsulated floor as the 1946 vintage furnace wheezes and tries to keep up.
It's pretty typical weather for a high desert December. Because it's the darkest month, it's usually the coldest month. Our hottest month is June.
If I had anything to go out for, I could even wear my fake fur coat, it's just barely cold enough to justify it. I can wear it maybe three or four days per winter around here.
