OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) -- Two Democrats in the Washington state Senate are abandoning their caucus and will now work with Republicans to control the chamber.
Officials said on Monday that Sen. Rodney Tom of Bellevue and Sen. Tim Sheldon of Potlatch have decided to caucus with the GOP.
The new coalition will control the Senate, pushing conservative budgeting. Republicans will chair six committees, including the panel that controls the state budget. Democrats will control another six committees while the parties will co-chair three others.
One of the Republican committee chairs is Sen. Pam Roach, who was kicked out of her caucus two years ago because of accusations of mistreating staff. She was allowed back in this year during the Republican budget coup last year, but she is still barred from interacting with Senate staff.

How the hell were those two scumbag traitors ever nominated and elected as Democrats in the first place?
It wouldn't surprise me if repukes bribed them or if they were repukes who ran as Democrats to deceive the voters in their districts.
If they were repukes who knowingly posed as Democrats, does anyone know if could they be charged with fraud?

(8,554 posts)and represents some of the most depressed rural areas of WA state, where logging and fishing were once thriving industries but have declined drastically during the past two decades (which is about the same amount of time that he's held office in our state).
Tom, on the other hand, has constituents who are some of the wealthiest people in Washington, and used to be a rethug. He is what I call a snake-in-the-grass pol. This is the senator I am most concerned about, tho both of them do generally speak for the people who elected them to office. Just check out the standard of living around Medina and Bellevue and then flip on over to the Peninsula and see what poverty in Washington looks like.
