Look at this ridiculous analogy I found on Facebook regarding guns

So because Hitler, Timothy McVeigh and the 9/11 hijackers did their heinous acts, we can't do anything to try and make our country safer from guns because these acts involved other means.

it's increased safety.

And by the way fertilizer purchases are tracked by law enforcement and box cutters are no longer allowed on planes.

Then it is more accurately stated that it is a "godless society with guns". Why they see adding guns to what they call a "godless society" as a good thing is not known to me.

Apparently we are not moral enough to handle guns.

... why aren't the examples all atheists? Far more mass murders have been perpetrated by people who claim to have faith in a religion than by those who make no such claim.

Disgusting. And I also saw something going around about 20 happy children bursting open the doors of heaven. I guess the right just wants to remind us that we can't stop this so we should be happy about little kids being with Jesus now.

nor did they come from a "godless societies".. far from it. And for what it's worth, McVeigh probably thought of himself as a believer.

it's illegal possess large quantities of fertilizer, carry boxcutters on airplanes and possess biological weapons ... guns should be next using their own logic.

It's infuriating. I don't know that I'm going to be civilized if I hear the same old NRA-induced spew this time around.
