I could not, as I slept in, but I wanted to. I really wanted to hear what was said from the pulpit.
My guess is that any DUers who are religious likely belong to liberal, progressive denominations. I'm curious, what did you hear from the pulpit today.

(164 posts)We prayed together for the comfort of the families and were encouraged to continue to pray privately.
No politics at all, just incredible sadness, and the hope that our prayers might help to ease the pain.

(72,377 posts)children's play. And let me tell you, it was impossible not to think of those poor little ones down in CT as I watched our own sweet children giggling and singing.
Our pastor did send out an email after the attack, however. He noted how we and the nation are grieving, but how we should all also be encouraging each other in the face of being worn down by the constant media barrage. I think he was right too, because it is very easy for me to get depressed from trying to carry the weight of the world and everything that is wrong in it. My shoulders aren't big enough and my heart is constantly broken.

(665 posts)The gist of today's sermon was, "If now is not the time to talk about changes in the gun laws, when is?".
There were 26 extra candles on the altar. The names of the victims (and the shooter) were also read.
