Poll Finds Jump in Support to Stricter Gun Laws

The Sandy Hook tragedy has caused significant and immediate change in opinions on the subject of tighter gun control legislation. Now that public opinion has shifted hopefully the politicians will begin the necessary work to get new laws passed. It won't be easy but I actually believe it will finally happen.

the same thing happened after colubmine

on edit: The change is slightly out of the stastical error range. That isn't a "huge" change. This doesnt mean that it can't be happening- it just means that this poll isn't concrete evidence of it

but i personally doubt it.

Even if it was a permanent shift this is not a gold sign for pro-gun control people. Usually the largest "bump" is in the aftermath of the shooting.

There are other factors as well- if you look at the entire poll it is quite telling. The majority of people who believe gun laws have an affect on mass shootings is the plurality but not the majority- which hasn't changed since previous polls
