KKK Counterprotests Westboro Church Picketing School Shooting Scene

The anti-gay group, Westboro Baptist Church, has promised to picket at the scene of the Newton, Connecticut elementary school shooting.

WBC member Shirley Phelps-Roper tweeted: “Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment.”

Westboro’s URL is GodHatesFags.com and the members can usually be found picketing fallen LGBT soldiers and celebrity funerals. In a word, they are crazy—so crazy in fact that the Ku Klux Klan plans counter-protest them. When the KKK steps in as the voice of reason, you know you are dealing with the bottom-of-the-barrel crazy.

Of which Westboro is not technically committing, I guess. But can they be considered domestic terrorists? Possibly.

I agree that the Anonymous petition doesn't entirely make sense. Are they asking for a presidential decree? What is this "legally"? I don't see a lot of precedent for it.

back in his day. Apparently he was responsible for about half of matters on the federal docket from Topeka, Kansas. Most of them were discrimination cases involving Afro-Americans.

I think his law firm, Phelps Chartered, still takes on quite a few of these matters.

Its significant that out of all the "God hates...." signs they produce, they haven't produced anything targeting Black people, as yet.

The KKK has demonstrated against Phelps before. Most likely this has something to do with it.
