At this point, a love of guns is as historically attuned as a love of slavery.

History has now passed you by and you are entirely -- entirely -- wrong.

It's like advocating drunk driving in a swingin' 60's "Mad Men" kind of way. "Ah, Harvey's a good guy, so he's a little sauced when he gets behind the wheel -- why take away his fun?"

But it's not cute. And the culture has moved passed you.

Now the question is whether the damage from the years of unchecked gun-worship, from needing a killing device to try and fill some deep unfillable void in your own soul, whether that damage can be undone in any reasonable human timeframe.

But make no mistake: A love of guns, and their defense, is no different, anymore, than defending separate drinking fountains for separate races.
