President Obama gives great speeches and, apparently, great hugs
by coolelegans

The speech moved me to tears. And then I found something to smile about. Here is the President, taking a picture that was released by the family of Emilie Parker, who was six years old. Look at how shy the girl in the pink shirt is... and how broad the President's smile is. He looks like he is celebrating life.

Here is another taken by Cristina Hassinger who took a photo of her daughter and the Principal Dawn Hochsprung's granddaughter with the President.

This man is my President:

Thank you Mr. President. As earicicle said in the comments "I can't think of anything more important [for the President] to do" than to spend time with these kids.

Kids have a sixth sense when it comes to good people who can connect with them. Just look at that first picture.

Edited to add: On second look, I realized that this is a picture of Emilie.

I'm crushed knowing that such innocence as the little girl in the foreground wearing a pink dress was so violently taken away!!! Just look at the affectionate, playful soul with her head & hand on Obama's knee. Her broken-hearted dad said Emilie had a gift for caring about other people. This is beyond sad.

Sorry that I missed the point of the OP on my first read.

The photo was released by Emilie's family. I'm wondering if the girl in pink is a little sister of Emilie? It is unclear.

the president. It could have been made clearer that this was taken during Obama's visit today. And, yes, the little girl does look like she could be Emilie's little sister.

Emilie had two younger sisters and there are some pictures of all of them together on Facebook. So sad. :'(

The sentence "Here is the President, taking a picture that was released by the family of Emilie Parker, who was six years old" is what confused me.
