Neil Young once sang: "4 Dead In Ohio, How Many More?"

The song is called Ohio. It was written and performed by Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young. It was about the 1970 Kent State shootings of 4 young college students. (From what I've read they were enraged upon hearing the breaking news and channeled that rage by writing that song.)

I wish CSNY would write a song about this horror. Something to capture the sadness and anger over what happened in this latest massacre.

As an anthem.

As something that captures our shared sorrow and rage.

As something to remind us and drive us to act.

edit: And maybe we all need to "Get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!'"

It took place long before citizens were running around with automatic weapons.

Outrage over senseless slaughter and asking how much longer are we going to put up with this.

Back then it was:

Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.

Today it's:

The NRA is coming
We're finally on our own
This Christmas I hear the drumming
20 dead in Sandy Hook
