Gun-rights advocates feeling heat after school shooting

http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/gun-rights-advocates-under-attack-after-school-shooting/2012/12/16/04cba1aa-47d6-11e2-b6f0-e851e741d196_story.html?hpid=z3

The call came Friday night, as Americans were just beginning the struggle to make sense of one of the most horrific mass shootings in a long history of them.

The anonymous caller was angry, and he was looking for Philip Van Cleave, who heads the Virginia Citizens Defense League. He cursed Van Cleave for his pro-gun advocacy, challenged Van Cleave to sell his weapons, and called him a coward.

“You would have thought I had gone up there and done these horrible things,” said Van Cleave, who received the call in the midst of planning demonstrations at two Autozone stores to protest the firing of an employee who used his firearm to break up a robbery.

Those who support the Second Amendment say they feel just as horrified and numb as any other American after Friday’s massacre of kindergartners and other young children at a Connecticut school. But now, as the call for new gun-control laws increases, gun owners say they also feel under attack.

***oy vey. they're armed to the teeth and sit at the very heart of the problem and they feel 'under attack?

Doubt it but we can always hope they come to their senses and see that their continued bullying on the subject is only buying more senseless killing.

Hmmm. All they're talking about is the technical performance of the equipment involved, i.e. how their toys did a great job last Friday.

Maybe they should hold their guns close to themselves and cry themselves to sleep. Losers.

from Fox "News". My guess: This was a black flag op by Obama, in concert with the Brady Campaign, who arranged the massacre to have an excuse to institute a complete prohibition.

As preposterous as it is, by Wednesday 40% of the country will believe it

superseding the right of a kid to go to a safe school? A movie theater? A mall? A Congresswoman's 'meet and greet'?

I, like many others, are sick of their rights superseding ours.

They are not under attack. Under attack were the children and teachers of Sandy Hook.

Gun nuts and their enablers are being yelled at with words. When someone shoots up a gun show or the NRA convention, then they will be under attack.

They were protesting the firing of an employee who used a firearm to break up a robbery. This is their ultimate fantasy. That by carrying a gun, they are going to become a hero some day. They're going to save a life, they're going to take down a gunner, fend off a mugger, break up a robbery.

It's a fantasy. I'm willing to bet most places have a policy against staff using a gun to stop a robbery, because as soon as firearms become involved, the chance that someone will die rises dramatically. Most stores have insurance against robberies. Let them take the cash, get them out of the store. Every retail job I've ever had, the company policy is to let the robbers have what they want.

As soon as you pull a gun, people lose their cool, and bad things follow. Got news for you, you're more likely to have that gun you carry used against you than you are to be the hero. Get over the fantasy of being a hero and deal with the problem, dammit.

Those violent lefties are not only gonna take our guns, they're gonna come and kill us all! Truly, they are delicate flowers. They have all the guns in the world, and they're worried about what liberals are TWEETING. Ugh. I wish the gun nuts would all just bunker themselves up somewhere with all their guns out of everyone's way.
