Mr. President, I believe in your heart of hearts you believe what you said last night. But you can't let this moment past. You have to act. This can be a defining moment in your already historic presidency. You're right. The joy and anxiety of parenthood is the equivalent of having your heart outside of your body all the time, walking around. I experience this daily. I have a beautiful and smart seven year old daughter and this cult of guns cannot continue.
I don't believe I can add anything else to this forum, to DU, on this subject. It has all been expressed much more eloquently than I could ever do it. But whether I have to throw my support behind Mayor Bloomberg's PAC or stand with you on this issue, Mr. President, this is now my cause and I hope it is yours.
