but you had to know that this represented something positive for me. I don't know why people are so intent on the put down. I was just a kid in D.C. in the 60's when I first heard this song, both songs. They go together in a way that has meaning beyond whatever she's expressing there. I think that's true for many songs.

'What's it all about,' I've asked myself over the years since D.C. and the riots in my youth and I hear these songs and the verses comfort and remind me . . .
