This country and much of the world has reached a crisis of conscience

Sandy Hook is the latest symptom of a global crisis of conscience. Yes we need serious gun control, but we need to demand so much more.

It's time to stop waiting for the good guys to come.
We all need to be the good guys.
We need to push back at the forces of evil and greed that revel in seeing us cowed and fearful so that they may continue their plunder.

We need to heed the President's words and look for the love within us and the love we have for each other.

We need economic justice.
We need equal opportunity to education.
We need equal access to health care.
We need to end war.
We need to care for our planet.
We need to call out those who say it is too difficult or too costly.
We need to re-imagine the world that JFK and RFK hoped to bring about.

"We the people" of the U.S. and the world need to demand fairness and peace.

I am currently working to help my family and neighbors rebuild after Sandy and I participate in my community. Would you like me to make a list for you?

How about you? What are you doing?

I'm helping to get my neighborhood off the grid.

I get nervous when people throw out the "economic justice" phrase. What do you mean by it?

Thankfully I've found a situation where my day to day living expenses are minimal and there's only me and two small dogs to worry about.

I'm for bringing back the Great Society and the New Deal.

I hung out with my local Occupy, until they started in with socialism (as opposed to social democracy), guilt trips, and resentment politics.

I haven't had my house rated yet, but my wife and I have a new roof (with reflective barrier), a new low use boiler, new insulation, and only use the double doored "cat-lock" when leaving.

As I wrote in another post: the greedy, ignorant, and callous have had their turn for at least 30 years and have nearly destroyed us and our planet in the process.

Enough.
