I speak for myself here but I am willing to bet I speak

for most Dems and most Americans. We are not about disarming the citizenry.
We want an end to senseless killing.
If that invokes strict background checks, assault weapons banned, limits on clips than my hope is gun owners can come together with the rest and help do what we can to effect a change.
All most of us want is a reduction of the killing. I think both sides can work together toward that. One side has to accept that there is a right to keep and bear arms and the other side has to accept that there are just limits to that right.
