I don't want children fenced off behind a fortress. Is this the future you want for your children? Arming ourselves to the teeth isnt going to solve anything.

And let's take Hunting off the list. 21st century we have grocery stores. The reason we are arming ourselves is fear, that the other are arming themselves. It's a mini COLD war. And like the one that just ended, the feeling of being safe was unattainable. You will never feel safe.

Ask yourself this question, If guns make you feel safe, why did the Newtown woman need five of them?

I can understand a weapon for home protection, but not the magnitude and fire power that is offered today, it's insanity.

No one is going to take seriously ideas such as banning hunting. I think it discounts all the rest you have to say and puts you on the fringe.

2. I agree. Issues regarding the desirability of hunting are an entirely

separate consideration, and have no place on posts regarding gun control. They only tend to distract from the real issue and make any type of control less likely.

If you need a rifle with the power of a bushmaster to take down Bambi, seriously that isnt hunting, that is a mental disorder. No one said to ban all weapons.

I don't know the answers, seems to me, People who purchase weapons are doing so out of fear, Not many gun sales for hunting. These weapons are purchased with an intent to shoot another human being. They are in preparation of feeling threatened? Do you assault deer before shooting them, or a paper target? The reason these weapons are being purchased, that is the problem.

Make a sport of it, test your skills. Use a crossbow, or bow and arrow. Use a musket. You dont need an assault rifle to hunt. Slaughtering meat on the hoof, with that much firepower,isnt hunting...its a sickness. JMHO

This isnt for protection. It's like prefecting a persona. Something right out of the movies or videoes...get a charge while defending our home from the bad guy, I can mow them down with a ribbon of bullet casings clanging against the floor.

Here Grandpa, take this 9mm Glock. Who expects an old man to expertly assemble his gun before he shoots an intruder he can barely focus on without his glasses?
