For all the gun enthusiasts who claim they are being "silenced"....
...give me a break.
Here in Florida, we have a nasty little piece of work named Marion Hammer. Here's a picture of the lovely lady along with good buddies Jeb Bush and Wayne LaPierre:
Ms. Hammer is the chief lobbyist for the NRA here in Florida. She was instrumental in getting the "Stand Your Ground" law written and passed that has been a big conservation piece since the killing of Trayvon Martin this past February.
Under Ms. Hammer, Florida has passed some of the most gun-friendly laws in the country thanks to her doing.
This includes one law where medical doctors are now forbidden from asking parents whether or not they have a gun in the household. Another Hammer authored law made it illegal for employers to ask employees if they had a weapon in their car in the employee parking lot. Yet another Hammer product makes it a criminal offense for any local public official to try and enact a gun regulation more stringent than the state regulation.
In short, this woman--and the NRA in general--have acted as extortion artists. They are the ones trying to silence others when it comes to guns.
The NRA, via its immense lobbying power, controls the dialogue when it comes to the subjects of guns in this country.
Gun enthusiasts are not being silenced in this country. It is quite the other way around.
