Suggesting a cause led to or contributed to a tragedy doesn't necessarily eliminate other causes or

aggravating circumstances from consideration.

The Titanic sank because it hit an iceberg but if the ship had been double hulled and/or had more emergency boats, catastrophe could've been avoided.

The same holds true for the tragedy in Sandy Hook, yes guns were the tools used to do the killing, but how many other aspects came into play?

Could mental illness, side effects from drugs, Wall Street greed, and general societal brainwashing have also played a part?

I believe it's possible and even probable, but discussing those other possibilities and even should they be proven true in no way, shape or form eliminates guns' role in this tragedy.

I also believe it's necessary to discuss, discern, and learn all aspects of this and other contemporary tragedies with an open mind to most decrease the possibility of it ever happening again.
