I think it is good that we can talk about gun control.

And I am sad to think that it took the killing of 20 children.
But please don't over reach. We are not going to ban all guns. We are not going to force people to lock their guns at some place away from home. If you really deep down hate all guns, I don't think you should be a part of the conversation. Pick someone with common sense to speak on your behalf.

I just think you are going to hinder rather than help to get laws passed.

Or do I have to keep my opinion to myself?

EVERYBODY gets an opinion on this matter because it affects EVERYBODY. Get it?

It's amazing that I even have to bother saying this.

I think if you own a gun (that you don't need in your line of work or for protection from wildlife) you don't get to be part of the conversation. I've had it up to here with the Delicate Flowers (people too scared to walk out of the house without a gun)

Even those used for hunting. Doesn't really describe me. But, I can't claim to be liking guns much these days. It really wouldn't bother me if all the guns in the world stopped working this instant. But, that isn't going to happen. I think we need to talk about gun control as well. But, probably not with gun lovers, they seem to be blind to common sense solutions.

Seriously could you respond with something of a little more substance. I think it is fine for people to start from a place where they don't like guns. There are a ton of people that hate guns and from what I can see they have good reasons to hate guns. Our society is much less safe than it needs to be. And one of those reasons is it is all to easy to get a gun. It seems very rational to hate guns. Gun lovers don't seem very rational these days though, blaming every thing from violence in entertainment to the mentally ill. But, they sure don't seem to be able to discuss the fact that nearly everyone has a gun. Or the fact that over 10,000 people a year die due to gun violence. That is not including the 30,000 that die from suicide by gun.

I've pretty much given up on this conversation. It's full of hysteria and hyperbole and there is no point in talking.

If you don't ask for that, you asked the left to disarm unilaterally.
