General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIf you made a bet yesterday that Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf would outlive GHW Bush...
You lost.
It would have seemed like a very safe bet... but things happen.
Stormin' Norman Scharzkopf, the media face of Bush's 1991 Desert Storm war with Iraq, has passed.
(Dick Cheney was Sec Def at the time, I think, but unlike Rummy in 2003, Cheney was never very "media face".... geez, come to think of it, Cheney outlived Schwartzkopf also!)
The official tells The Associated Press that Schwarzkopf died Thursday in Tampa, Fla. The official wasn't authorized to release the information publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

(25,551 posts)Guess it's the evil in him.

(11,464 posts)it is quite possible Cheney was bullied as a youth.
He was chubby(as was Karl Rove).
But Cheney had a handicap and kids can be cruel to people different than them
It might have made him turn evil.
It might have made Rove turn evil.
as a liberal, I always seek a reason for why things happen. Perhaps too much. But we always think if only for this event in ones past how different the person might have turned out.
and it might be a case where a kid bullied, became an adult who bullied the world.
I don't call his handicap being evil in him. I call it his handicap.
And the evil inside him comes from something
It sure wasn't his mom or pop.
Is Dick Cheney any different than the CT shooter?
We seek answers about the CT shooter.
Maybe we should look and seek with Cheney
It could be that he was bullied by someone or a group
And yes, what he did politically is not to our liking.
But that does not mean we should make fun of his handicap he was born with.
Now with 43, we understood 41 didn't like his son. Always preferred his other son.
With 41, what turned him was most likely his evil father Prescott.
As for Stormin' Norman-he had cancer for years, and was very overweight. Didn't make for a fit and trim general.
As for 41, it has appeared for a month now he is in hospice. They just haven't told us that.
Except for Art Buckwald, nobody left hospice alive, and even Art didn't last forever.
What is it about December though that takes so many people who don't make it into Spring.
It is so proverbally ironic that life is like the seasons when someone dies in the late fall after the leaves are gone, or winters cold.
