(1,675 posts)Is this 50% relative to other news outlets or 50% relative to before the election?

(2,479 posts)A slow awakening. People are beginning to understand FOX is a news outlet.
Frequently on FB, while talking to right-wingers, I'll call them on their FOX viewership, the fact they are just repeating talking points gleaned straight from the right-wing outlet.
Invariably, they deny they even watch it. So obviously, they have figured out it has the far-right reputation of a propaganda slinging network, with very little to no viable information, and often outright misleading stuff on air. So they know enough to lie, and say they don't watch.
It happens over and over. I'm not sure I had one argument were someone actually admitted they got their information from FOX.

(2,479 posts)Their denials are worth their weight in gold. Once they start denying the source, you know they understand that it is nothing but a "right-wing propaganda" network. I think that was what I was going for. I shouldn't zip these out like I do. Luckily the rest of my post made it clear I wasn't one of their fans.

Your soul starts filling with darkness the second you tune in.
Only empty people can take it.
Everyone else is going for lighter fare.
While you get FOX with expanded basic, one step beyond limited basic (which I have), to get MSNBC you have to get more, and to get Current (now being deemed Al Gorezeera), you have to get not just digital starter, but digital preferred. To get Bill Maher, or many of the liberal shows put on, you need Showtime. I just heard Oliver Stone saying he had a new one coming out, on Showtime.
So, essentially, your poorer viewers are most likely to have basic, without the channels they are most likely to listen to. There is CNN, which has become a rather unreliable source these days, Often "leaving it there," on incorrect points made by some conservative.
It's why FOX has such great cable popularity, simply because they bury the more liberal content.
Thankfully I got Free Speech TV on my ROKU, just found it yesterday.

(1,315 posts)Not Teahadists or Faux news Kool aid types, just basic folk, and to a man everyone of them think Hanity, O'Reilley and Co. are shills, big money interest douches. One of my favorite shooting partners firmly believes Limbaugh and Savage are just character actors in it solely for the money and consider them brilliant satire, basicly "theater of the absurd" of what solid Christian conservatives think.
