he is perfect. He is so very real and honest, and those traits seem to be lacking in too many people these days.

Public Radio saying that violence against girls in the USA has hit "epic levels" if we have made so much progress should that be reported? Maybe I misunderstood what was said but it sure didn't sound like we have made much progress. Women in the South like myself that dare to be verbal and opinionated are hardly treated with less that contempt in my neck of the woods. I moved here from a metropolitan area and felt like I had stepped out of a TARDIS when I got here. Not much has changed here IMHO since the 1950's, at least that is what the Good Ole Boys in my neighborhood would like us to think. Really they would prefer we didn't think or talk at all it seems. ???

...because I used to live way down there, in the deeeeeep south. You describe it to a tee. Thank God I got away from there, back closer to the Mason Dixon Line. Because sooner or later I would have opened my mouth to some dumb violent SOB and he would have mowed me down. Of course, had he reacted like that, his hiney would be in prison. But you know...it happens everywhere, not just in the south That's why the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) is so important. The House Repub's voted it down. But Sen. Patty Murray will get it going again in the 113th Congress and hopefully it will pass. What we need to figure out is how to convince men (or abusive women) that they should not behave like that, and that if they do, they will be held accountable. Joe Biden has been a women's activist for a lonnnnnnnnnnnggg time, long before he ever became Veep. If you're single with no kids, high tail it out of the south. If you're married, talk to your hubby about how you feel. Hope you can find a way out of there....

No wonder people relate to him!

I think he'd make a terrific president! HOWEVER, my heart kinda belongs to Hillary Clinton, so I'd have quite a dilemma on my hands if they both run.

But one thing's certain: MAN-OH-MAN do we have bench strength!!! We have an embarrassment of riches in future presidential hopefuls. Add in Andrew Cuomo and a few others, and it's gonna be harder than hell to choose between them! Never saw so many on the good-guy team before! Kinda reminds me of the whole Bobby Kennedy/Gene McCarthy/Hubert Humphrey dilemma once-upon-a-time. The first two were the best. I kinda think RFK might have gone all the way if he hadn't been assassinated.
