I’ve got 30 minutes to watch this box
before I have to go.
Was I dead yesterday and only living now
or living yesterday and only dead now?
Who can keep up with the pink
and the black and white of things.

The Book leaves out the part
about the Rich Man’s Bull
It only tells us what they want us to know
Just enough to keep you working till you die
Just enough to make you think it matters
Just enough to have you believing
you’re here for a reason
that has anything to do with you.

There were nuns at our house yesterday
but what did they mean
with their stone faces and discipline
to keep us in our place.
The Wall Street Army runs this town
and no one can tell what’s dead or living.
What’s done is done is done again and
the rest just collateral damage.
