From Senator Warren on AIG - 'They Backed Off...'
(Addressed to me) --
On Wednesday, the AIG Board of Directors decided not to sue the government over their bailout.
They decided not to bite the hand that fed them during the crisis. This was the right thing for AIG's board to do, and I'm glad they did it.
I'm also glad to see a tangible demonstration of what happens when the public gets engaged. Regular people all over the country seem to have played a role in AIG's decision.
That's why I care so much about keeping our team together -- fighting for what we believe in and being a voice for middle class families.
We need to be willing to speak up when taxpayers are getting a bad deal. We need to say our piece about how families are getting chipped at, squeezed and hammered. And we need to push hard when we find common-sense solutions to level the playing field.
Can you help us continue to grow our team? The more voices we have in our corner, the stronger we'll be able to fight. Invite your friends to join us now.
I'm going to do my best as a watchdog for families, and I believe we're stronger together.
Thank you for being a part of this,
Elizabeth
