(82,383 posts)You could have had Mitt as your president, with all his experience running businesses!

(135,425 posts)I had on that Morning Joe and it was like fingers on a blackboard. Click-click-click and CSPAN is mercifully better. The USMC band is playing, and no one is talking over them....the dignitaries are coming in, and no one is babbling--you just have to know who they are!
It's paradise!!!!

(81,314 posts)Instead, we get louie gohmert. Oh for Pete's Sake....
Bad enough that sometimes our view is blighted by a shot of boner or yertle or that pompous ass scalia with his clown hat. (Gee, attention-hog much?)
I was hoping the wrongneys would be there just for the sake of being able to savor the contrast, and to see them watch their "entitlement," and their "turn, now," be taken by the man whose turn it rightfully is.
Yeeeechhhhh.
We all worked awfully hard for this moment.
My husband and I got choked up when seeing James Taylor with his acoustic guitar, playing "America the Beautiful." Never thought we'd see THAT day (another way the two of us felt "represented" up there on that platform)! I texted that to our son, who's out on tour - about to play Denver tonight.
We all worked awfully hard for this moment. This is OUR day, too! I love you guys!

(40 posts)Last spring I signed my daughter up to go on a school trip to the inauguration and the whole time I was filling out the paperwork I kept thinking, "Please let it be Obama she will be seeing getting sworn in!" What a happy day!!!!

(13,776 posts)We shouldn't have come as close as we did to that scenario. I still have pages open on my phone's browser to stories about how surprised Mitt and Ann were on Election Night because they remind me 1) bwahahahahaha! and 2) how there were many people, terrible at polling but otherwise sane, who really thought that the Romneys would be up on that platform today.
I have been so happy all day to see our beautiful First Family and all the adoring crowds. I am so proud of them.
