but I don't want them to vote Republican. The fact is immigration, when managed, is a good thing for among other reasons giving us population growth when we otherwise wouldn't have it. If I were in the GOP I would want this issue off the radar and would likely vote for just about anything to make that happen.

I am first generation American on my mother's side. I understand immigration quite well. thank you. I was commenting on Hatch making a completely asinine statement...We need to work on immigration cause we need them having babies...How about because everyone deserves a chance to work and live here is that's what they want?

Well maybe now we can thanks to the collapse but assuming we get a decent economy again so that people want to come again in large numbers we just can't take everyone. I don't think it is a sin for the country to manage immigration so that the country gains. I think that one of the reasons we saw the collapse of wages in industries such as construction and slaughter houses is the mismanagement of immigration that we allowed to occur.
