High school student suspended for picture of gun on laptop

Daniel McClaine Jr., a freshman at Poston Butte High School in Florence, Az., said he was suspended from high school for having a picture of a gun on his school-issued laptop, Bryan Preston reported at PJ Media Monday.

The picture showed an AK-47 with bayonet attached lying on top of a flag, and was set as McClaine's desktop wallpaper.

A teacher who saw the picture turned him in and he was initially suspended for three days.

ABC 15 reported that since the computer belongs to the school, district policy prohibits students from “sending or displaying offensive messages or pictures.” They also cannot access, send, create or forward pictures that are considered “harassing, threatening, or illegal,” the report said.

There are multiple guns in this picture. What if the student had this as their wallpaper?

Makes one think, eh?

and people who post this crap should be banned.

The author of that article describes himself in these terms:

"an IT professional who has been involved in conservative politics for years. In 1991, he ran for City Council in Riverside, California, and has served as a campaign manager for local conservatives in California and Idaho, including former Idaho State Representative Jeff Alltus. For a year, he hosted a local access cable talk show that covered conservative politics."

Great, a propaganda piece by a Rush Limbaugh wannabe.

On DU.

The "news" first appeared on the inane, insane, right-wing PJ Media, formerly Pajamas Media. It's a Tea Party group. But that's why the kid and his dad contacted them first:

father and son are murder-fantasizing gun-worshipping right-wing thugs who spoke only to the people who would support them.

And then there are people who can always, always, always be counted upon to support conservative authors who re-tell stories from far-right publications.

You're trying to represent the ABC article as agreeing with the despicable gun-worshipping drivel you posted. That isn't true, and it isn't where you found it.

Go to google news

Type in words like outraged, upset, student suspended (the one I used), etc and so on.

I dig through tons of papers/sources. If it had been on only one I would have most likely ignored it.

But keep accusing me of things if it gets you through the day.

Second-grade Loveland student reportedly suspended for imaginary weapon

LOVELAND -- A 7-year-old Mary Blair Elementary School student says he's confused about getting in trouble for trying to save the world from evil, though Thompson School District officials contend that the boy broke one of the school's “absolutes.”

Parent Mandie Watkins said Mary Blair principal Valerie Lara-Black called her Friday afternoon to inform her that her second-grade son, Alex, had been suspended for throwing an imaginary grenade during recess on the playground.

Alex did not have anything in his hand at the time and made no threats toward other people, Watkins reportedly was told.

we've only heard the story as told by gun-worshippers.

For all we know, the kid held the picture up and showed it to another student, saying "I'm gonna ram this up your ass."

The right-wing media told its story, in a manner that is never, ever straight, and the school was too intimidated to tell any other point of view.

We don't know the truth, at all, just right-wing propaganda.

The problem is that zero tolerance policies are so stupid I would have been expelled...for drawings and poetic images. At least not for Legos, oh wait, tat also has happened.
