John Bolton Praises Obama’s Drone Program As ‘Sensible’ And ‘Consistent’ Extension Of Bush-Era

Appearing on Fox’s Happening Now this morning, former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton took to defending President Obama‘s program of targeted assassinations of Americans abroad, calling it what it is: an extension of Bush-era policies.

“It seems to me that the approach that the Obama administration is following is consistent with and really derived from the Bush administration approach to the War on Terror,” Bolton told host Jenna Lee. “And I think it is entirely sensible. Whether it is foreign citizens who are involved with Al Qaeda or American citizens, we are in a war. They have attacked us. We have a congressional authorization to use military force in response. And that’s what’s at stake here.”

This HAS to be an awful policy.

Boehner Onboard With Revealed Obama Drone Memo

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) on Wednesday said he agrees with his Republican colleague Mike Rogers (R-MI), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, on the use of drone strikes against U.S. citizens who are believed to be senior al-Qaeda members. In a statement Tuesday, Rogers defended the use of the strikes, arguing that the government has the authority and obligation to protect itself from terrorist threats.

During a press conference Wednesday, Boehner said he agreed with Rogers' statement. "That's all," he said.

That should take this issue off the impeachment table.

"So you're NOT in favor of Obama's Drone policy OR...you're embarrassed you're fighting alongside John Bolton in your effort to defend Obama?"

...at "gotcha" is a fail. Here's Bolton:

“It seems to me that the approach that the Obama administration is following is consistent with and really derived from the Bush administration approach to the War on Terror,” Bolton told host Jenna Lee.

Utter bullshit. What the hell does that mean ("consistent with and really derived&quot ? Bush didn't issue a justification for shit. His statements and those coming from his administration were lies. I watched a number of hearings where Bolton and Rice lied their asses off.

If Bush's policy was coherent he wouldn't have let bin Laden escape, wouldn't have launched a bullshit illegal war in Iraq and wouldn't have resorted to torture.

I'd be "embarrassed" latching onto Bolton's statement to prove a point.

I'm not ok with that, and that is exactly what will come from this if we don't stop this shit now!
