Alabama lawmaker pushing ‘personhood’ because ‘aborted babies’ might go to Hell

A Republican lawmaker in Alabama says that he wants to pursue a so-called “personhood” bill outlawing abortion rights for women because the Bible proves that a fetus “is life inside of a mother,” but he’s not sure if “aborted babies” are going to Heaven or Hell.

In a recent interview with the Times-Journal, state Sen. Shadrack McGill lamented that “you can be charged up to $250,000 for destroying an eagle egg, but you can destroy babies in the womb?”

McGill explained that his interpretation of Psalm 22 made it clear that life began at fertilization.
“Just based on the Scripture alone, the Psalm that talks about God knowing us before he placed us in our mother’s womb, is enough for me to know that that is a life inside of a mother,” he said. “So my question concerning aborted babies is, where do they go, heaven or hell?”

I actually don't want to come down to hard on this guy for his thinking. I am sure a lot of Christians go through this. I did when I was going to church. I wondered where babies when if they died before they could even talk. I wondered at some point about aborted fetuses and miscarriages. I wondered what happened to people that had never even heard of the bible or even seen one. But, I reconciled that by believing god wouldn't send any innocent person to hell. Which was a contradiction to what I was told. So, seriously I couldn't follow or believe in a god that would send a fetus to hell just because it happened to not have taken some oath to believe in his only begotten son, that is just crazy and such a god would be crazy.

stance on this issue. If the Vatican who is pretty much immovable changed on this and says that unborn babies are with God, I don't think this guy will get far with this one. They are desperate. They just keep trying to come up with one bogus excuse after another.

If God knew us before the womb he could have known us in a 1,000 past lives. Funny thing about scripture -- it's open to interpretation on many levels.

Following this logic then it should be a felony if a republican man ejaculates through masturbation .......... ten years in prison should do it

Genesis 38: 9-10 ESV

But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his. So whenever he went in to his brother's wife he would waste the semen on the ground, so as not to give offspring to his brother. And what he did was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and he put him to death also.

I can't understand why he would follow a God that could send innocent fetuses to hell. I wouldn't follow a god like that. Which is why I had to compartmentalize the issue. Eventually, I came to realize that this kind of god of the bible doesn't exist anyway, but that is a whole nuther subject.

I think this guy has to seriously consider what he is following if he has a question of whether his god burns fetuses in hell.

Unless you fail to accept Jesus.

Then He will torture you in Hell for eternity.

That strand of Christianity (which I know not all Christians believe) makes no sense to me.

After God formed man in Genesis 2 , He “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and it was then that the man became a living being”. Although the man was fully formed by God in all respects, he was not a living being until after taking his first breath.

In Job 33:4, it states: “The spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”

Again, to quote Ezekiel 37:5&6, “Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am the Lord.”

In Exodus 21:22 it states that if a man causes a woman to have a miscarriage, he shall be fined; however, if the woman dies then he will be put to death. It should be apparent from this that the aborted fetus is not considered a living human being since the resulting punishment for the abortion is nothing more than a fine; it is not classified by the bible as a capital offense.

If he and others like him are willing to go to this extreme, then perhaps he might want to introduce other laws based on the Bible:

Exodus 21:17 states: “Whoever curses his father or mother shall be put to death.” Have your child executed for talking back!

up to 8 you aren't really accountable for your actions - you need to know right and wrong before you can sin really.

But obviously Catholics and some others believe that babies who are not baptized do go to hell.

Take it as read if you don't believe in the soul, heaven or hell, this is all monsterously nonsensical.
