This tornado is now rated as an EF-4....awfully strong for this early in the year....

(345 posts)My father-in-law said there were no warning sirens that he could hear. He said that the way the clouds looked you didn't really need sirens. You just knew something bad was coming out of them.

(345 posts)We had just taken my father-in-law home. He lives within 1/2 mile of where the tornado touched down. My heart goes out to all of the families affected by this.

(506 posts)This proves it. These guys could have easily wound up dead. Only a matter of time before one of these amateur stormchasers is killed.

(8,086 posts)I wonder what first responders think of this. It would seem to me storm chasers like this, especially in a populated area (as opposed to a farm field) and so close to a storm would be just one more thing I'd have to worry about. Especially since, in one part of the video, they almost run someone else off the road.
But it IS amazing video. I hope I never ever see one of these in person, and my heart goes out to everyone who had to endure this awful storm.
