. . . here's today's face of the republican party.from Steve Benen at the Maddow blog:
Shortly after the 2012 elections, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) urged Republicans to "stop being the stupid party" and move away from "dumbed-down conservatism." It seemed like reasonably good advice, which some in the GOP have apparently chosen to ignore.
Ted Nugent, the gun-loving, bow-hunting rocker whose staunch defense of Second Amendment rights and inflammatory insults of President Obama have made him a hero with many conservatives, will attend the president's State of the Union address on Tuesday night.
Mr. Nugent, who is also a National Rifle Association board member, will be a guest of Representative Steve Stockman, a Texas Republican who recently made headlines by threatening to file articles of impeachment against Mr. Obama if the president issued executive orders that strengthened gun control laws.
Nugent has also gone after President Obama with rhetoric that was violent enough to get the attention of the Secret Service. Try to imagine the political world's reaction if a washed-up entertainer targeted a Republican president with violent rhetoric, and then a Democratic member of Congress invited him as a special guest to attend the State of the Union.
. . . I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Democratic offices spent the day issuing press statements, demanding to know what John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, and Marco Rubio think about Ted Nugent's record of ugly extremism, and whether they're comfortable with his presence in the chamber tonight.

(37,161 posts)Nuge said he's have to "demilitarize" to attend the SOTU. Aside from him never having actually militarized, does this mean he's going to cake up in several days of bodily waste again? That's how he "demilitarized" previously.

(3,539 posts)With all the rhetoric of how the Teapublican party will change their "image", Ted stands right up their with greats like Allen West, Joe Walsh, Rush Limbaugh and others to bring us the real message of the republican menace.
The more they sell crazy, the more moderates will understand that Teapublicans do not have their best interests at heart.
It will remind us of how dangerous these people are, while providing the occasional good laugh.
Mental image of Glenn Beck baying at the July moon to the tune of "Yank Me Crank Me".

(32,088 posts)It has become quite obvious they the whole lot of them lack anything resembling a soul. Looks like they are the only ones who have yet to figure that out. I'm listening to a statement made by the clown in the photo, who is spewing on, condemning the President for allegedly using people as props--as he allows the GOP to use him as a prop. It's goddamn fitting that this shitstain is the "Face of the republican Party".
