My son contributed to the housing increase today.

Last edited Wed Feb 13, 2013, 10:33 PM - Edit history (1)

My son and DIL put a bid in on a short-sale last MARCH. After nearly a year of bank bullshit, run-arounds, re-do this re-do that...that finally closed yesterday. The house is already worth nearly 75k more than they paid for it.

Damn that Obama! He's ruining everything!

Closed on my new home on February 1.

And, mine was actually 2 deals, 1 canceled closing (because the seller couldn't sell the house after all!) and 2 years.

Mine wasn't a foreclosure, though. It was the product of a divorce.

The stress over this house actually put me in the hospital between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

edited to add:
We moved into our home last weekend. Tired, but loving our new home.

At every corner, just when we thought it was done, the bank came up with something new. Even on the final day, they had to delay the closing because of an old electric bill they found. Crazy shit! But it worked out. Glad it worked out for you, too!

It was the worst ordeal I've been through in a very long time.

Congrats to your son and DIL!

At the closing, the ex-wife told me she almost blew up the deal. She didn't find out the house was being sold until 2 days before closing and she was pissed! It was a very ugly time in that room with the couple.

with the mortgage company.....you know, the "when I say jump, you ask how high" routine. At least I was prepared for that this time around.

We were able to re-fi at a terrific rate (thank you President, sir)...this is our last hurray. We are updating
for the last time..all new bathrooms, kitchens, floors on two houses and then that is it while we skate* through
our senior years...
