Boy asks President Obama, 'Are you our teacher?' (PICS!)

Last edited Thu Feb 14, 2013, 03:44 PM - Edit history (1)

During visit to Georgia school, boy asks President Obama, 'Are you our teacher?' Another says, 'I saw you on TV' - @WestWingReport

AP

from TPM:

Via the White House pool report:

. . . Mr. Obama walked over to the first group of kids who were playing with blocks, and asked, "Can I help?" The children greeted him and asked him to play with them.

During the photo-op, one of the boys asked, "Are you our teacher?" Another boy said, "Welcome, Mr. President." and another child said, "I saw you on TV."

Mr. Obama gave one girl a high-five, and a fist-bump to another boy.

"You are doing great!" the president said.

A lot of what's so endearing about children this young, is that many of them really won't know exactly who the President is. And it looks as if when this President goes out like this, he doesn't just sweep in surrounded by the Secret Service (although I know they'll be close enough to do their jobs) but behaves like a regular guy who for some reason just stopped in.

What a really great guy ..... he made those kids and their teachers the most important thing
in his world for the time he was there.

We are so lucky to be alive as this man is President. He changed some lives today.

I can't think of a President who enjoys the company of kids so much as our current President. Could you see Romney doing this? No! Could you see Bush or Cheney doing this? No. Ronald Reagan? Defiantly Not. Maybe Bill Clinton, George Bush Senior? No... This is what makes him the Best ever President IMHO.

It does my heart good to see him among these children because he is so genuine and real with them. I do not see how anyone who sees him with kids can doubt his sincerity for what he hopes to leave behind as his legacy. And yet, sadly, I know there are nay-sayers and Obama bashers who will try to take this event and figure out a way to slam him one more time. It really makes me sad that there are so many people who question his motives and are actively working to thwart him and his efforts to leave this world a better place. They deny racist attitudes but it's hard for me to come up with any other reason.

Good for you, Mr. President, for continuing to work on behalf of the American people. Just ignore the nay-sayers. There are plenty of others who support you and appreciate your work on our behalf!

love to spend more time with children than deal with the spoiled brats back in DC who clearly forgot what it means to play nicely in the sand box.

Obama is not from this planet, call me crazy if you like, but I have never in 74 almost 75 years ever have seen anyone like him, who always says the right thing, has the right moves, never shows hatred, always shows love, friendliness, and an ability to make me feel totally unafraid of him.

I used to be afraid to send an email to the White House, but am not afraid to send them often because I am one of his people. He is the most non-scary most important people in the world..

He has his haters, but doesn't seem to hate them back.

Queen Elizabeth, eat your heart out...all the crowns in the world can't give you what he has, a headful of brains and a heartful of love, stuff that no books can teach you, and he ain't bad-lookin' either...

Thanks for posting the pictures...those lucky kids..!!
