I'm thinking this latest delay is an effort by the cruise line to come into port under the shadow of darkness. I don't think they want any more attention than they already have and coming in at nite will make it harder for the cable news crews to interview people coming off the ship and getting their accounts of what happened to them; the conditions on the ship and the treatment that these passengers had during their ordeal.
If they came into port during the day - I think it would make for better TV - and the cruise line knows this. So I'm really thinking that the cruise line is delaying this whole thing on purpose.
Any thoughts?

(14,400 posts)if the tow line didn't break. Whether or not that's allowed is up to the port. I think they want to get in as fast as they can and get everyone the hell off the ship no matter what time they dock.

(38,958 posts)They know that they are in a no win situation. I am sure that the PR department is doing whatever it can to mitigate the damage in any way they can. Not that it will do them much good, but I guess they have to something.

Go ahead, call me cynical

You will see security "to protect the passengers privacy" though. Bet on it.

Those poor passengers won't ever want to see another cruise ship again.
