Just because they can . . .

He needs to make the Repubs OWN the sequester and its consequences. Frankly he also needs to blast the Senate for failing to do its job. The law doesn't say "Advise, and consent only if we can get a supermajority"

He has projected a bipartisan reasonableness at every turn. For the 1st term I thought it was just positioning for re-election. Apparently not.

His rhetoric needs more... verve.

I just called my GOP Rep. Was able to get through to a higher-up-staff person who addressed the adjournment vote as business-as-usual in order to save tax dollars by not paying workers who keep Congress running (!) and that the Congressperson would be conducting full slate of activities in home district.

I thanked him but told him that the Congressman was voted in to work in Congress to get things done. And a 9-day adjournment, aided by his vote, at this point with the March 1st deadline due, is heinous.

(!) Just suffice it so say I addressed the not-paying-workers rationale as well.

will be fined $1,000 per hour for wasting taxpayers time and dollars.

Republicans who do not understand the needs of their own constitutents should be placed under arrest, punished for failing to do their obligations and sentenced to 100 years in prison doing nothing but picking up tiny rocks and shoving it up their asses.
