Go tell it on a mountain.

Trickle down economics has failed. It has destroyed our tax base and driven us deep into debt, all in the name of "smaller government". What we ended up with was worse government. Trickle-down and supply-side economics was a sham. But it is like the Marathon Bomber - they can find no one to bury it.

It should have been called "throw the baby out with the bath water" economics. Government was bad. They made no distinction. Defense spending was good and there were no limits on what could be spent to protect a country in decline, mainly due to their economic policies. The truth hurts.

Trickle-down has brought us the Tea Party and a Republican Party in disarray. They are extremists looking for someone else to blame other than themselves. They would rather die than look in the mirror. But they were wrong. And we are all paying the price.

Including the partisan division in Washington. Including the debt. Including the cuts in social programs. Including the monstrous defense budget. Including the crash due to de-regulation. You name it and we can probably trace its roots back to the early years of Ronald Reagan and trickle-down economics...

dissolved? We were going to save uncounted $Billions because the Cold War had ended.

The conservatives remembered and acted promptly to provide the gullible and greedy with new "scary enemies" and we still have troops in Germany; we are spending more on the War Dept than during the Cold War; and we are losing out Bill of Rights so the war profiteers and thier allies can grab any excess cash even if they have to steal it from the needy.

And now we are approaching $17 trillion dollars of debt! Of course, it is all Barack Obama's fault.

8. Right wing political movements can't exist without an enemy

When the Soviets were the enemy, the GOP had something outside to focus their paranoia on. Once the Soviet Union ceased to be a threat, the GOP turned their gun sights inward and began to attack the USA. "The left" became the new enemy. That attack evolved into the unbridled right wing nonsense we see today.

It is a system designed to starve out the lower classes while further enriching the already rich. It does that quite well.

Or, as I've said elsewhere, it's an economic system you'd get if you gather a bunch of weathy fuckers in a room and ask them: "How would YOU like the economy to operate?"
