because he was an alcoholic and drug addict who did it to himself. This guy is a right wing liberal hater I have talked to several times at my buddies motorcycle shop. I told him that Pinkie never had a fair shot at life from the beginning. I told him that at 15 Pinkie shot and killed our brother Willie age 11 in 1970 accidentally. I told him that at that time there was no council for Pinkie or any mental care to cope with this tragedy. They just sent him on his way like nothing happened. It was easy for Pinkie to fall into alcohol and drugs and the guilt consumed him. The Republican told me he didn't care at all and why should we waste tax money treating a person like Pinkie when he done it all to himself.
But he gave $10,000 to his daughter for her husband to have Hep-C treatment because that's what you do is help family. He said he got the Hep c from the hospital and tried to sue but couldn't. I told him the fucker got the Hep c because he was a drug user too.
So I guess he is saying Pinkie deserved to die but not his family for the same thing and I don't know why he would think like that. This fucker hangs around the shop because he has a bike there and spews his right wing bullshit for about an hour everyday. I'm going to sneak out and put an Obamacare bumper sticker on his truck. See he don't bother me too much because I know Pinkie was more of a human being than that fuck will ever be.

(45,558 posts)I hung around with a lot of guys like Pinkie when I was going up. I didn't belong with them, anyone could see, but they tolerated me cause a lot of the "normal" people couldn't get me...
There are a lot of troubled people out there that no one seems to care about.

(1,241 posts)when he got sick. He didn't have insurance so they really weren't in no hurry to do anything. They even refused pain treatment with liver cancer because they must have figured he was a drug seeker. Don't matter, the system failed him from the git go. Now he is dead and out of every ones hair.

(9,841 posts)I never used to be a Republican hater, but somewhere along the way they turned into the party of assholes. I can understand not wanting to be too sensitive or touchy-feely, but they've gone way too far in the other direction - now they wear their insensitivity like a badge of honor!

(81,304 posts)Or "SCREW 'The Least of My Brethren'!" It's gotta fit on a damn bumper sticker to get through to ANYONE!
I also like - "NRA: Al Qaeda's BFF!" Or "NRA: Al Qaeda's Best Friend!" (After all, I seem to recall seeing reports of al Qaeda notices going around all over Muslim areas of the world, recommending a trip to America to get your guns. Because it's SO easy! No muss, no fuss, no questions asked, and they don't even do a background check!

(47,953 posts)but I will make an exception here. May this bastard get a slow, painful disease that saps all of his money, and dies alone,in the street, in pain.

(6,927 posts)There are so many people out there who have no compassion or concern for the problems of anyone outside their families and close acquaintances. I call them assholes. They challenge us to be nice when we want to be hateful. We have to work to not stoop to their level of behavior.
I like the bumper sticker idea. Can you manage to say as nicely and calmly as possible, " I do not like the things you say about my brother and I do not want you or your business in my life."? It would be better than " get out of here and never come back, Asshole".
Just a thought.

(24,574 posts)He must have been eaten up with guilt over the younger brother's death. You don't need to hear this crap from anyone, but it is hard to avoid if you hang out at the same place. Just keep reminding yourself that Pinkie was a bigger man than this idiot.

(1,241 posts)but he was talented craftsman, he painted all across America, even went to Hawaii and painted on the Aloha stadium. At 54 he put a lot of miles on. I tried to get him registered to vote before he died but he was too sick. He fuckin loved Obama. And he always fought for the little guy.

(9,933 posts)He did not deserve to die. Drug addiction is a sickness that needs counseling and medical attention. Every drug addict deserves help. My hubby's best friend from high school shot and killed his younger brother accidentally as well in front of my husband and several other friends from the neighborhood. They didn't think the gun was loaded. It scarred every one of those kids forever.
You're a better person than I am. I would tell that guy off and to never come back. I don't know why some people are so proud of being so heartless.

(20,226 posts)to it has become the explanation for anything and everything. In an age when we know more about human psychology, genetics and neurology than we ever knew before and thus know that there are a lot of factors that determine how people act - Thus completely dispelling the notion that all tragic behavior can be explained as the results of bad choices. This is part of the rightwing war on science and reason.
BTW: Adlai Stevenson at the age twelve - accidentally shot and killed a 16 year-old friend. To the end of his life he was haunted by it and would tear up anytime the memory of that tragedy came to his mind.

(5,167 posts)to put a bumper sticker on his truck, no matter how much satisfaction you would get at that moment.
The guy is a trouble-maker, and likely a bully; he would delight in causing trouble for you, and perhaps it would do your buddy-shop owner no good.
You could, however, have a radio blaring Woody Guthrie and Pete Seegar music real loud.

(114 posts)When we were all kids in the early 1950's of about 8-9 yrs old, a neighborhood kid shot and killed his younger brother. Total accident but Kenny was never right again. As we all grew up Kenny became more and more despondent. His parents divorced He was drinking heavily by age 15, before the rest of us knew anything about drugs Kenny was deep into them. He got caught with drugs and was sent to prison. In 1962 Kenny hung himself in his prison cell.
I thought about Kenny when I read about the 5 y/o in Kentucky who shot his younger sister. I cried myself to sleep for him and Kenny for the next few nights. I hope he gets better treatment than Kenny and I hope I can stop crying.

Life has somehow become cheap in America. So very sorry for your loss. Alcoholism runs deep in my family.
Half-Century Man
(5,279 posts)To Sorefeet : "Take solace that a walk through the ocean of (his) soul would scarce get your feet wet" (paraphrased from Deteriorata : National Lampoon's Radio Dinner: 1972). He has built a comfortable little delusional fortress to live in, which is unfortunate in a way. When he does finally receive a severe ass fucking from the karma fairy, the implosion of his fortress will be catastrophic.
To Sorefeet's "friend": from certain clues in some of sorefeet's posts: ie. hangs out in a motorcycle shop for hours, worked for Boeing for 23 years yet a republican union hater, callus dismissal of those laid low by narcotics addiction, advocates stock ownership as a form of corporate revenge/control. I think I have a pretty good picture of you.
To wit; You are a poser. You groveled at the feet of the man and kissed his shoes in gratitude for the scrapes you were fed. You managed to, against all odds and the intent of your masters, to save a stipend to serve you old age. You used a part of said hold back to buy your way into a "lifestyle" of rebellious history as marketed by Corporate America. now, you sit evilly pontificating as though you actually had worthwhile information.
Those of us who actually survived the wonderful, horrible bad old days of living free, being hated by H D, being hated by the police, being beaten in bars for cutoffs, the drugs, the booze, burying friends killed by LOLs in Cadillacs, having expletives and beer bottles thrown at us on the roads of America, and doing OUR OWN work on our bikes before ACTUALLY riding them; do not bitch about tax dollars spent by the man to ease and treat the ones society has abandoned. We were/are the abandoned. The ones who slipped (or dove) through the cracks.
Improve your shtick or give it up.

(1,241 posts)They kicked him out of the pain program until he pisses clean for marijuana. I told him to go to the VA with your medical marijuana card, problem solved. He said he makes too much money for VA and refuses to get legal with a state medical marijuana card. He ain't no biker, not even close. He just writes the check. Drives his Ford Lightning and has to let you know he paid cash for it. He is quite obsessed with money and wealthy people, he looks up to them. Pretty creepy.
