Please! Let's stop calling for changing names and phrases that's THEIR thing.

I've seen calls on this site and others that we start using different names for Birth Control and planned parenthood and other things.

I say HELL NO!!! We start doing that and we are no better than the GOP spinners.

We already have allowed THEM to take the work liberal and make it such a "Terrible" word that we now use PROGRESSIVE. It is crazy to play this game and DOES nothing - NOTHING- to get to the heart of the issue and debate!

We start caving on words like Birth control and other things we start playing this stupid game of spin AND we shouldn't be playing this game what we should be doing is educating and helping our fellow citizens to understand the problems.

We start changing words and we start playing this "Battle Zone" game on things.

that is what I do. On a similar topic, there are a lot of "net nannies" and authoritarian types who want to control what words people can use, and I don't pay any attention to those threads either.

8. I don't know about Batman's politics...

nor why people keep on asking me about him. I think he's just a brave citizen doing his civic duty and exercising his second amendment right to keep and bear grappling hooks.

But as for myself, I'm lining up with patriotic wealthier citizens like George Soros, Warren Buffett, Lex Luthor, and Bill Gates. I'm willing to pay a higher share of my taxes if it'll get this damned Reaganomics-Neocon debt off the backs of our kids. You know... if I ever have kids.

5. Thing is, we change words all the time.

You used to say 'retarded' for mentally handicapped, 'negro' or 'black' for African American, tomahto for tomato. What is the difference in coming up with new phrases for politically hot button words?

6. Huh, I still use two out of those three examples

you gave, I don't call blacks "African Americans" and I still use retarded instead of some pc term like "mentally challenged" in my daily life, but that term doesn't really come up much in the threads I usually post in. However I use the term "blacks" on DU routinely.

7. I understand that we change words and yes some changes are good BUT sometimes changing it

is done at the wrong time and for the wrong reason.


I've seen people want to use Pregnacy Prevention, Anti-Pregnacy control and others.
