General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsJust a general observation...I like the way things are trending. The big picture is looking better.
Lousy slate of Repubs self destructing. check.
Komen debacle - people rising up, social media pressure. check.
Obama readying for the fight - polls trending the right way. check.
California Prop 8 rejection. check.
Unemployment dropping. Feelings about the economy improving. check.
and this is only a partial list after 1 minute of pondering.
Any of us - me included - could take each of these and find some faults...agreed - there is so much more to do, and must of the progress is fraught with peril as well. I am still unemployed - so, so many are. So many are struggling. But it doesn't - can't - get all fixed at once - and at once means even in 3 plus years. Eight years of Bush was far worse than "you broke it, you fix it". They demolished things down to rubble.
But, as I said....I do like the way things are trending. The Obama victory in November will feel pretty damned good to me...to us all.

(22,541 posts)There have been some positive changes that directly impact the people of this country. I mean, I'm listening to Ted Olsen right now on Rachel Maddow about Prop 8. How cool is that when an arch conservative fights for same sex marriage?
Maybe there's even some hope for my RW family members. At least the younger ones anyway.
